Not Just A Friendly Encounter Part 1
Chapter 1 — Private Viewing
The gallery was quieter after the staff had gone. I liked it best this way—just the low hum of the climate control and the soft pools of light I had left on over the main wall. John stood a little apart from the largest unfinished canvas, hands in his pockets, waiting for me to speak first. He always did.
I walked the length of the piece slowly. The paint was still thick in places, the figure only half-resolved. Something about the way the shoulders turned away from the viewer made me pause longer than I meant to. I could feel him watching the side of my face instead of the work.
“You’re holding back here,” I said.
He shifted his weight. “I’m still deciding how much to show.”
The honesty landed differently than it should have. I had known him since we were children, long before either of us had titles or reputations. Back then he had been the quiet one who drew in the margins of exercise books. Now he was the artist I had chosen to launch with a full solo show, and the responsibility sat between us like another presence in the room.
I stepped closer to the canvas, close enough that the smell of linseed and his skin mixed in the still air. He did not move away. I noticed the faint tension in his jaw, the way his breathing had gone shallow while he waited for my verdict. It was a small thing. Professional. Yet I registered the exact moment my own pulse answered it.
I kept my voice even. “Leave this one out of the racks tonight. I want to look at it again without the others competing.”
He nodded once. I watched the line of his throat as he swallowed.
We finished the walkthrough in near silence. Every so often I asked him to shift a study or tilt a smaller panel toward the light. Each time he obeyed without question, and each time I felt a quiet, unexamined satisfaction settle lower in my body. I told myself it was only the pleasure of control over the exhibition—the same satisfaction I felt when a hanging finally locked into place. Nothing more.
At the door I did not hand him the spare set of keys.
“I’ll need another private session tomorrow,” I said. “Same time. There are still decisions I haven’t made.”
He looked at me for a second longer than necessary. Then he simply said, “Of course.”
I locked the street door behind him and stood for a moment in the dark entrance hall, the metal of the keys still warm in my palm. The gallery felt different with him gone. Larger. Emptier. I was already thinking about tomorrow, about the exact angle of light I would leave on, about how still he would stand while I decided what the work—and he—would be allowed to reveal next.
Chapter 2 — Process Notes
I had left only one bank of lights on in the long gallery. The rest of the space stayed in soft shadow so the unfinished works would hold their weight. John arrived exactly on time. He still moved like someone who expected to be asked to leave.
“Take the large study down,” I told him. “The one with the turned back. I want it against the far wall.”
He did it without comment. I watched the line of his shoulders as he lifted the panel, the careful way he set it down so the wet edges would not smear. When he stepped back I moved behind him, close enough that the heat of his body reached me through the cool air.
“Lower,” I said quietly. My hand settled on his shoulder, just long enough to guide the angle. The muscle under my palm tightened once and then stilled. I left my hand there a second more than necessary before I took it away.
He did not turn around.
I made him shift two more pieces, then a third. Each time I spoke from just behind his ear. Each time I felt the same low current move through me when he obeyed. It was not the work that held my attention anymore. It was the quiet readiness in him, the way he waited for the next instruction as if the room itself belonged to me.
When the hanging was finished I pointed to the most revealing study—the one where the figure’s face was still half-hidden, the body already too honest.
“Leave that one unlocked in the private room. I want it to myself tonight.”
He hesitated only a fraction. Then he carried it through and set it on the easel under the single lamp. I followed him as far as the doorway and stopped.
“Tomorrow,” I said. “Same hour. Don’t be late.”
He nodded, eyes on the floor for a moment before he looked up. I kept the key to the private room in my pocket when I locked the street door behind him. The metal was warm against my thigh all the way home.
Chapter 3 — Closed Room
The private viewing room smelled of linseed and the faint metallic tang of the climate system. I locked the door behind us and left the key in the inside lock. John stood near the easel, waiting.
“I need to understand what you’re actually putting at risk in these pieces,” I said. “Not the paint. You.”
He glanced at the study, then back at me. I let the silence stretch until it became another instruction.
“Show me how you work when no one is here. Start with what you wear in the studio.”
A flush rose along his throat. He unbuttoned the shirt slowly, folded it, set it on the chair. The undershirt followed. I did not look away. His chest rose and fell faster now. When his hands reached his belt I only watched. The trousers dropped. He stepped out of them and stood in dark briefs, already visibly hard, the fabric strained and darkened at the tip.
I stepped closer. The air between us felt thicker.
“You’re reacting,” I said. My voice stayed even. “I can see it.”
His hands moved as if to cover himself. I shook my head once.
“No. Keep them at your sides.”
He obeyed. The shape of him was unmistakable—thick, pressing, a small wet mark spreading where the head pushed against the cloth. I looked for a long time, long enough to feel my own body answer with a slow, deliberate pulse between my legs. The power of it settled low and heavy. I had asked for this. He had given it. Neither of us pretended it was still only about the work.
I walked once around him, close enough that my sleeve almost brushed his bare arm. He stayed perfectly still except for the slight tremor in his breathing.
“That’s enough for tonight,” I said at last. “You can dress.”
He reached for his clothes. I did not give him the room key when we left. In the corridor I told him we would finish the conversation another evening. My voice sounded steady. Inside, the awareness of what I had just done—and how wet I already was from it—refused to quiet.
Chapter 4 — Terms of Display
I locked the private room and left the key in the door. The single lamp threw a hard circle of light across the floor. John stood inside it already, waiting, shirt still on because I had not yet told him otherwise.
“Take everything off.”
He did. Shirt, trousers, briefs. He folded each piece and set them on the chair without being asked. When he straightened, his cock was already thick, the head flushed and wet. I walked around him once, slow. The air between us felt charged enough to touch.
I stopped in front of him and wrapped my fingers around the base. He made a low sound. I stroked once, firm, watching the way his hips wanted to push forward and the way he forced them still. A clear bead welled at the slit and slid over my thumb.
“You’re going to stay exactly like this until I say otherwise.”
I stepped back, unfastened my own trousers, and pushed them down with my underwear. The cool air hit the wetness already coating my thighs. I sat on the low viewing bench, knees open, and crooked two fingers at him.
“Come here.”
He crossed the small distance. I reached for him again, guided the head between my legs, and rubbed it through the slickness there. The contact drew a sharp breath from both of us. I notched him at my entrance and pulled his hips forward with both hands.
He sank in slowly. The stretch was immediate, thick, filling me in one continuous push until his weight settled against me. I locked my ankles at the small of his back and held him there, fully inside, while I adjusted to the pressure. My cunt clenched around him in small involuntary waves. I could feel every ridge, every pulse.
“Move.”
He drew back and drove in again, deeper. I kept my eyes open and watched his face while he fucked me. Each thrust landed solid, the wet sound of it loud in the quiet room. I reached between us and touched myself where we joined, fingers slipping over the place his cock stretched me open. The dual sensation—fullness inside, pressure outside—tightened everything low in my belly.
I came first, hard, thighs shaking around his waist, the climax rolling through me in long pulls that made me grip him tighter. He kept thrusting through it, steadier now, until his rhythm broke. He tried to pull out. I held him in place with my legs and took the hot spill of him deep, feeling the pulses against my walls until they slowed.
We stayed joined for several breaths. I could feel him softening inside me, the slow leak of his come already starting to slip out around him. Only then did I release my hold.
Chapter 5 — After the Opening
The public opening had ended an hour earlier. The last guests were gone. Jim had left with the interns. I brought John back to the same private room and locked the door again.
He looked at me as if he already knew the shape of what was coming.
“Clothes off.”
He stripped. I pushed him down onto the bench this time and straddled him, taking him in one slow descent until I was seated fully on his cock. I stayed there, unbroken eye contact, and rolled my hips in small, deliberate circles. The angle let me feel every inch. I braced my hands on his chest and used him at the pace I wanted—long rises that almost lost him, then controlled drops that forced him back to the root.
When I felt the first tremor in his thighs I slowed further, grinding instead of lifting, keeping him buried while I rubbed my clit against the base of him. The second orgasm hit me sharper than the first, pulling a broken sound from my throat. I kept moving through it until he seized under me and came again, hips jerking upward, flooding me a second time.
I stayed seated until the last pulse faded. Then I lifted off him, felt the warm slide of combined come down my inner thigh, and stood.
“This doesn’t change the work,” I said. My voice was steady even though my legs were not. “It doesn’t change the exhibition. And it doesn’t make us anything public.”
He nodded, still breathing hard.
I dressed without hurry. At the door I paused, key in hand.
“You’ll wait for my word before you touch yourself again. Clear?”
“Yes.”
I locked him out of the room and walked through the dark gallery alone, the evidence of what we had done still slick between my legs.
Epilogue
The reviews came in strong. John stood next to me through the press interviews, calm and precise. No one in those bright rooms could have guessed that the same night I would lock the viewing-room door behind us again, put him on his knees, and keep him there with my hand in his hair until I finished against his mouth.
I left him hard and locked afterward.
The arrangement stayed exact: I decided when, I decided how far, and the work continued on the walls outside. That was enough.
